The Stephens Farmhouse along Highway 99 bakes pies that customers picking them up for Thanksgiving described as “insanely” delicious and likely to be devoured within a day.

Owner Cherie Stephens expects to bake about 1,500 pumpkin, pecan, pineapple and other pies for the holiday to continue a tradition of hand-rolled dough and other demanding kitchen tasks that have turned homemade pies into a rare resource.
